Crater Lake National Park, June 2, 2018

On our way home, we spent a day at Crater Lake National Park.  It has been 4 years since we were last there.  This is a place where you first look over the rim at the lake and just say, Oh My!!  It is really gorgeous and so I had to take a bunch of photos.  On this trip, the eastern rim road was still closed because of snow, and the northern entrance and western rim road had just opened a few days before we arrived, so there was lots of snow vis

Chiloquin, OR, May 22, 2018

We started today on our trip to the Escape Customer Appreciation Rally in Osooyos, BC, just "down the street" from the Escape Trailer factory in Chilliwack, BC.  Every year about this time, they host a rally for Escape trailer owners.  We thought we should go to one, so we are on our way.  Today, we traveled 384 miles to Chiloquin, OR, and are staying overnight in Waterwheel RV Park.  It is a delightful place on the banks of the Williamston River.  Our neighbor told us there is good fly fishing here.  We are enjoying the peace and quiet after a long day of driving.  Tomorrow, we are off to

Lewis and Clark NHS

In July, we took a trip to the Washington Olympic Peninsula.  At the start of the trip, we went to Astoria, OR, and stayed at Fort Stevens State Park.  We recommend all Oregon state parks as we have yet to be disappointed by them.  They have all been great.

We visited Lewis and Clark National Historic Site, where the Lewis and Clark expedition stayed for the winter on their trip to explore the Louisiana Purchase.  We learned a lot about Lewis and Clark and their journey.  If you like historical places, you will like this park.

June Dornbush Reunion

In June, 2015, we met my three sisters in Bandon, OR / Bullards Beach State Park for three days.  Bandon is just about half way between Seattle and Santa Rosa, and on the Oregon coast so it seemed like a good choice.  Our original choice was Umpqua Lighthouse State Park because they have "deluxe yurts" but they decided to repave the park and close the whole place!  So it was off to Bandon.'
